Oh my, finally here I am again. I had to get my picture uploaded again after I had the problems with the computer. Finally got it done in between my projects. Still have many more in progress, so had better explain. These are the cheer bows that I have made for my GD's cheer team. They need them for Dec. 11th for a competition. Still have 4 more to get finished
A close up of the bows. They are made of 2 layers of grosgrain ribbon, with the red layer of sequined fabric cut in strips. They all are bonded together with heat and bond. Then to sew them together, as the bonding makes them stiff so they hold up better. It is a fun job...

Here's the chair cushion that I made for my old rocker. Picked it off the curb 50 years ago and refinished it. Wanted to have a rocker for my first baby girl. She will be 50 in Jan. Oh, how time does go on. It is still rockin'.....

I recovered my pillows to give my some accent color in my new colors. Just got a new loveseat that reclines and a recliner. Had sold my big hide-a-bed and 2 recliners. Needed to downsize a little. Went from hunters green to more beige or brown, and they are much more comfty...

These next 3 pictures are of jewelry that I have cocheted with fun fur and other fun yarns, added pony beads to give them a little bling... This one was more for summer. You can use just about any weird looking yarn or strings or ribbons..... just the chain stitch with any beads added...

I love wearing them with sweats and blue jeans as they just are more casual. Wish I had made them a little longer, but they will do.

Fun to make and fast...
Guess that's enough for today. If I get better at posting things on here I am going to try to post more often. I have so many projects going that I could probably add every day. But then, it just makes life soooo much more fun when you're so busy that you don't have any time to get in trouble... LOL

I finally figured out how to upload these 2 pictures of the purse that I made at the quilting show at Marshfield last Fri. The purse part is a quilted piece of 2 fabrics, and the handle and accent strip is made from a man's tie.

This is a shot of the back of it. Thought it turned out kind of cute. The colors are a bit brighter than it shows on the computer picture. It is lined and has 1 pocket inside. I must get busy with a few final chores outside...

Today I just did this wall hanging. It was part of a panel that I got down at the quilt show in Sept. When I saw it, it just screamed out [buy me.] A friend collects roosters and chickens. I got it done, and her bd was yesterday, so will take it over to her.
Tried to get some close ups but the color just doesn't show up good. The background is a warm yellow with black around them.

Did the machine quilting just on the background and quite dense, so the chicken and rooster kind of stick out. Have 4 more panels this same size to make for someone. There were 5 rows on the panel.

I finally took some time to upload some of my last projects. These were a towel set that I made for my DD's wedding. Her monagram went from a Z to an A.

Here's the purse that I made this last week end out of the fabric that I cut off the bottem of the dress that my GD wore in the wedding. She wore it for their homecoming dance which was Sat evening. Went from long to above the knee.

The finished dress cut off and hemmed. Had enought to make a small drape for her to wear over her shoulders and the purse. The top of it is strapless...

This is a shot of a fall quilt square that I made for quilt club. Everyone made one and then they drew names for all that were brought in for the meeting. I didn't win it, but was fun, and got the pattern for the square. There were enough squares to make a good sized lap throw or small quilt.

This a close-up picture of one of the pillow shams. I should have taken a couple at a distance.

Another shot...
The ringbearers pillow for the wedding in Sept. It is made of ecru satin with the trim on is is latte[color of the attendents dresses]. I embroidered the design in metalic silver and and then sewed irridescence beads on it. I think it turned out great. I plan making a quilt using the embroidery designs on some of the squares. It just seems one thing leads to another. lol

Hope you enjoy it.

Well, I finally got it done and now just have to get it to someone to quilt it. This is just the top that I have pieced together. I do have the back sewed, its just a print and nothing fancy.
I laid it on my DD's queen size bed so it is too big for that. Now I am working on the valances, bedskirt, and the pillow shams...
Am excited to get it this far, and am even liking it. When I get it quilted and bound I'm sure it will hang better and be on a king size bed...
Her bed is so high, that I almost need a stool to get up on it.lol

My GD came over and showed again how to post pictures. For some strange reason when it shows up on the blog area when I'm doing it, the picture doesn't show, just this weird letters and numbers.
Anyhow these are the p.j.'s that I made for my client. I put her name on them but it doesn't show up good. They are the only kind she can wear.

Here's the new kitty Jockamo looking outside trying to find something to watch. He's only 4 months old, so is going to be a big kitty when he gets done growing...

Another shot of him after he climbed up a sm. roll of carpenting and was being in charge...

Here's the other half of the pair. Fergus the labradoodle, who already is huge.... He is getting used to the kitty and lets him climb all over him...

Picture as they were playing....

These are one of the pots of petunias by my back door sprayed with Liquid Fence...
This is one of the pots that I had forgotten to spray with the Liquid Fence . Lesson Learned..... Spray every few days or the deer will eat my flowers for a dessert...

This is one of the pots that survived. Those darn deer. They are not bashful at all and come right up to the doors...lol Will take more pictures of my little container garden and try to post it later... My zuccini are really taking off. This rain made them grow like a foot in the last week.

I must have goofed when I took these first 2 pictures. Must have had the camera on a wrong setting. Silly me. Made 2 of these denim shirts with clown with wording around it. "which you cann't see on picture" Clownin' Around and their name on other side of shirt above pocket.

Sure better take some lessons on camera use.lol

These next 2 pictures my GD took at the craft show today. I really did better than I thought. You really cann't see all the items either in these pictures. But that was it. Have kind of mixture of left-over from past shows...
Got rid of a lot of AG doll clothes... It was fun talking with gals coming thru. Maybe next year I will start going to a few again. It's easier where a table is furnished so I only have to bring my one display thingy. That I can carry, and can get all in my new car that I got last spring. The seats fold forward so I have a longer space to put things like that. My old car I couldn't fit it in. But then I may just do more quilting and not bother. I'm kind of getting too old to do this stuff...lol

Sunday, June 6, 2010

Well I finally took time to update my blog. Added these pictures of the fancy bib for those of us who are always dropping part of our meal on our good clothes. Am making some of these for a craft show. They are lined and made out of scarf prints.

This one is an animal print and is chiffon. They all have an elastic hoop to fasten them once you are done and want to put them in your purse. Last picture is of them rolled up for safe keeping... lol I am making many different colors and prints. Will let you know if I sell any...

I finally got this cushion done. First picture is showing the bottom of the cushion. The darker color is fabric that I had to replace old botton with. This is all on the back of the cushion. Had to cut off the back of the cushion, has the 2 different compartments for the stuffing on top and foam on bottom and 2 different zippers. Also had to replace of some of the material in the middle section that goes between where the 2 compartments are. What a job...

This shows the 2 zippers and naugahyde that I constructed it from.

A closer picture to show how it's set into rest of cushion. This is for sure why I have never tried to reupholster for a job. I'm sure there's an easier way to do it, but the rest of cushion is fine. This is the way back that is actually under the back part of couch. They are recliner couches. lol
I just stuffed some fiber fill in it to show some depth so you could tell what shape it is. She will still put reg. cushions and top in it and do some stapling to fasten in in.

Monday, March 8, 2010

Gosh, the sun is out and it's a great day and I even got my 2 baby quilts finished. I thought I had flipped the back forward so you could see that the back is the plaid fabric as on the border. Guess I didn't. When I finally got this one over into where I could upload it, when I took the picture of whole quilt, it kept flipping sideways. What's up with that.
Oh well, just look sideways...lol I added some little bows on the animals...

This is the one that is more boyish, with more bows.

This is how I had thought I had flipped the corner on the first one, but it didn't get done. I just machine quilted around the figures on the fabric. Was a fun project... Now I have 2 baby presents when I need them....

Monday, March 1, 2010

Gosh, it's the 1st of March, my GS's BD and now I finished another quilt. This is one just out of some of my stash. Don't know where it will go, but thought the colors and prints went together. Just started sewing together and didn't know where it would go, but it was fun... Sashing is not even or lots of things are wonky but still had a good time making it. I think, that's what it's about.
Shows a little of the back. The machine is really not good, but it was supposed to look like large crayons or pencils. Not at all straight, but you get the idea.... Crazy as it is!!!!

A corner of quilt to show a little close up.... That's it for today... Molly
