A snowy day here in Wisconsin. Guess it's a good day to upload the pictures that I have taken recently of currant projects. This is the BOM that we do each month at the quilt club. Everyone make a square [labels it on back with their name]and then it is put in bag and one is pulled out. The winner gets all the blocks to make a quilt. We are given the patteren and instructions. Usually colors are suggested. This last month we were given the multi colored fabric and had to use a white on white for background pieces and chose plain or marbled fabric to match one of the colors in the multi colored piece.
This just a baby quilt that I put together to try out a square that I thought was interesting. Made with flannel, both front and back... Nice and cozy... It hasn't even been pressed, so it looks kind of wonky....
We had a demo last month of this pattern. Sew 9 patch, any size squares, these are from Moda's, wild flowers IV... Once you have the 9 patches sewn together you cut it in the middle vertical and horizonlly. Like you do for a disappearing 9 patch. But by sewing each 9 square with prints in the 4 corners and the sashing colors [white] and the cornerstone color[blue] in the middle, you end up with the print patches with the sashing and cornerstones already attached. There is a way to keep all the prints the right way but I didn't think I would do it for this one.
Here are some laid out as it would be in a quilt....
